What must a worker do before entering a confined space

• be nationally trained as competent to perform confined space entry work
• plus have a fully trained standby and
• Have a rescue plan that has been rehearsed prior to entry
• Complete a confined space risk assessment
• Fill out a confined space permit
• Ensure all PPE as outlined in the Permit is in place and effective
• Obtain approval from management prior to entry
• Standby to continue dynamic risk assessment whilst workers in space
• Standby to maintain continuous communications whilst workers in the space
