A white card (also known as a General Construction Induction Card) is a mandatory certification required by SafeWork NSW for anyone performing construction work. It confirms completion of CPCWHS1001 – Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry and allows legal entry to construction sites across NSW.

Who Needs a White Card?
A white card is required for workers who want to carry out construction work.
People who need a white card include:
- Site managers, supervisors, surveyors, labourers and tradespeople
- People who access operational construction zones (unaccompanied or not directly supervised by an inducted person)
- Workers whose employment causes them to routinely enter operational construction zones.
The white card becomes void if you haven’t carried out construction work for two consecutive years or more.
Eligibility Criteria
You will need to provide the trainer with 100 points of ID prior to commencement of the training. Some documents you can use to provide this can include:
- Your passport, either Australian or International
- Australian birth certificate
- Australian drivers license
- Medicare card
- ATM card
- Utilities bill
Originals must be brought on the day to be viewed by the trainer.
White Card Training Course Information
Through our SafeWork NSW-approved RTO, Sydney Safety Training delivers white card training exclusively for group bookings.
Group bookings can be held at our purpose-built Villawood training facility, or on your site.
- Minimum of six contact hours
- SafeWork NSW documentation and the issue of a SafeWork NSW White Card at no extra charge on successful completion
- Issue of a Statement of Attainment for CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry upon successful completion
- Your paperwork is sent to SafeWork NSW for the issue of your official construction induction card, which they send to the address you provide.
$2,000 GST-free for a group of up to 2 (regardless of whether your group is smaller).
