Sydney Safety Training’s HLTAID009 CPR and HLTAID011 First Aid course is held over one day and designed exclusively for pre-booked workplace groups, ensuring teams meet WHS obligations and remain operationally compliant. This is not a public enrolment programme; it is structured specifically for employers who need coordinated training for their workforce.

The nationally recognised training follows current Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines and standards. Part of our additional safety training courses, the programme equips participants with practical, hands-on skills aligned with workplace standards. The result is a workforce that is not only certified on paper but genuinely prepared to respond to medical emergencies on site while meeting audit and safety requirements.

Why Is the HLTAID009 CPR and HLTAID011 First Aid Course Essential?

This training is essential because it equips individuals with the skills and confidence to respond immediately to cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies. In high-risk workplaces such as construction, utilities and heavy industry, incidents can occur without warning, and early CPR can significantly improve survival outcomes before emergency services arrive.

Beyond compliance, this training is critical for several reasons:

  • Life-saving capability: Immediate, effective CPR can double or even triple survival chances in cardiac arrest situations.
  • Rapid response in remote or large worksites: On many industrial sites, emergency services may take time to access the casualty. Trained workers bridge that gap.
  • Workplace safety culture: CPR-trained teams demonstrate proactive risk management and shared responsibility for site safety.
  • Confidence under pressure: Practical, hands-on training prepares participants to act decisively rather than hesitate.
  • WHS and industry expectations: Many high-risk environments require current CPR competency as part of broader First Aid obligations.
  • Annual refresher requirement: CPR skills must be updated regularly to remain current and effective.

All Sydney Safety Training courses are delivered by qualified trainers with real-world experience across construction, utilities, infrastructure and heavy industry environments.
