Course Dates For Remove Friable and Non Friable Asbestos Training Course




This training will qualify you to work in the asbestos removal industry, and allow you to remove both NON FRIABLE and FRIABLE asbestos. When working in NSW your employer must have a WorkCover Class A or B Asbestos Removal Licence depending on the type of asbestos being removed.   If you do not get accredited by a SafeWork accredited Asbestos training RTO, your accreditation will not be accepted by SafeWork NSW.  To see who is approved, click here.

Training Materials

You will be provided with:

  • The Code of Practice Safely Remove Asbestos
  • As many sets of disposable coveralls, P2 mask, glasses & gloves required to complete the practical
  • You will also be shown & use H Class vacuums, powered filter masks, full face masks, negative air unit, smoke tester, tools and other equipment relevant to this type of work
  • Tea, coffee and biscuits at our training site
  • Please bring shorts and T Shirt for practical training

Accreditation

The national units of competency issued through this training are:

CPCCDE3014 – Remove non-friable asbestos

CPCCDE3015 – Remove friable asbestos

TheStatement of Attainment” is issued by RTO Safety Training RTO# 40992.

Pre-requisite Unit of Competency

  1. CPCCOHS1001A- Work safely in the construction industry” OR
  2. CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry OR
  3. CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry
  4. The above units are found on WHITE CARDS where you actually completed the training after September 2009.
  5. WHITE CARD training conducted prior to September 2009 will not have any of the three above units AND IS NOT ACCEPTABLE (Do not request a re issue of this card, as it will not be acceptable). 
  6. IF you hold a white card where you completed training before September 2009, we can conduct a short induction program for you to attain the required unit of competency during the training at SST for $50.
  7. THIS IS NOT A SAFEWORK PREREQUISITE, BUT A NATIONAL TRAINING AUTHORITY REQUIREMENT THAT CANNOT BE WAIVED.
  8. If you do not present a Statement of Attainment for either of these units on the day of training, you cannot complete the training, and will be asked to reschedule.  This is NOT NEGOTIABLE, as it is a training authority pre-requisite.
  9. You will need to provide the trainer with 100 points of ID prior to commencement of the training.  MUST BE ORIGINALS – COPIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED – Some documents you can use to provide this can include:
    • Your passport, either Australian or International
    • Australian birth certificate
    • Australian drivers licence
    • Medicare card
    • ATM card
    • utilities bill
  10. Failure to produce 100 points of identification with original documents will result in you being asked to leave immediately – you must have them prior to course commencement

Course Duration

This programme is conducted over 4 days, starting at 7.20am on Mondays and finishes on Thursday afternoon

Courses commence at 0730am and you need to check in at 0720am please.

Course Cost

The cost of this course is $900.00 GST FREE for public courses at Villawood Training Centre

Group Fees – Groups are bookings of up to ten staff and for this 4 day programme the cost will be $8700.00 GST FREE and can be conducted at times agreed to.    Call to discuss please.

Asbestos Exposure

At no time during training will anyone be exposed to asbestos.

Training Outline

This training programme is conducted by qualified trainers and includes:

  • Prepare for asbestos removal
  • Prepare asbestos removal area and removal site
  • Isolate removal site
  • Enclose removal site
  • Carry out asbestos removal process
  • Carry out decontamination process
  • Clean up work site
  • Contribute to and use documentation in line with regulatory requirements
  • Practical training in wearing PPE, setting up exclusion zone, constructing a bubble, removing asbestos, wrapping asbestos,  decontaminating your PPE, and removing the bubble and other PPE

We suggest that you bring a pair of shorts to change into whilst doing the practical exercises
